She was riding in a carriage filled with plush pillows and soft covered seats with embroidery that looked like it had taken many weeks to finish. There was a girl in the it that looked about 5 summers old with hair red as a rose with black streaks and pale skin with lots of freckles. She had a red dress on with black detailing. There was only one other person in the carriage other than herself, a woman in her late 20s. She was beautiful, with hair like a ruby and skin like porcelain with the occasional freckle on her that just enhanced her beauty. She was wearing a purple dress that matched her eyes with pearls threaded into a circular pattern, that showed off her tall, thin, and curvy figure perfectly. She had high cheek bones, full lips that seemed to fit the smile she had on and a soft face. The laugh lines that had already edged themselves onto her face fit perfectly into her beauty.
The girl was looking out the window at all the trees surrounding the road they were on with her fire orange eyes. She was just about to fall out of the carriage window when the woman pulled her back in saying with a smile, You know not to do that, Laurel.
But there are people in the trees mommy, the little girl, Laurel, said. As she said this the womans smile faded and a sound of bodies hiding the ground started. The woman clutched the child to her, not daring to let her go. The thudding sounds faded and were replaced by the sound of boots treading on the road. As the sound got closer, it stopped in front of the carriage and a man with a cape flowing down his back with black armor on and a hard face threw open the door. He had black hair and blue eyes with a strong jaw line and a beard. If you will kindly come out
? the man said in a deep voice and paused, letting sentence hang in the air. The woman noticed there were many others surrounding him and she new it was futile to object so she came out still clutching the child to her. When she was out, the man started to speak again. Now, he said with an air around him that told you not to displease him, If you will hand over the child we will be on our way.
No, she said bluntly.
Then we will have to take her by force, the man said as he nodded toward the man behind her. The girl fell out of the womans arms and was caught by the man while the woman fell to the ground in a heep, unconscious because of the mage behind her.
The man held the child away from him as if she were a disease striken rat that he had to move because no one else had the guts to do it themselves. He stared at the little girl trying to see if anything was different about her than any other child but the girl just kept staring right back at him with her big, oddly colored eyes, which was the only thing that seemed diferent about her to him besides her hair and the fact that she seemed well muscled for a child of her age. He smiled and said to his followers
